Staff Product Engineer

About the role

A fast-growing developer infrastructure company is hiring a Staff Product Engineer to set the technical direction for its new products. This role operates at the organization level: owning architecture, solving complex product problems, and driving 0 to 1 initiatives that shape how the company grows. You will be one of the key technical authorities on the team and a force multiplier, raising engineering standards, mentoring senior engineers, and owning production outcomes. This is a hands-on, high-impact technical leadership role.

What you will do

  • Own and drive the architectural direction for new products that do not exist in the industry today, designing and building the next generation of AI-native developer tooling
  • Translate business and product strategy into long-term technical roadmaps and execution plans
  • Drive the development of these products from 0 to 1
  • Be accountable for production outcomes, including reliability, performance, and operational excellence
  • Mentor senior engineers and act as a force multiplier
  • Operate effectively in ambiguous problem spaces where both the problem and the solution need to be defined

What I am looking for

  • 7 to 20 years of experience as a full stack engineer owning 0 to 1 product builds end to end
  • Expertise building products customers love: you have set and led the technical direction of a product from an early stage and grown it into one recognized industry wide for an exceptional customer experience
  • A power user of coding agents. The team works at the forefront of agentic development, and you will help push it further
  • A track record of leading through influence and shaping technical direction as an individual contributor
  • Strong communication skills, able to explain complex technical concepts to engineers, leadership, and non-technical stakeholders

About the company

A developer infrastructure company that helps engineering teams run their build and deployment workflows significantly faster and cheaper on its own purpose-built infrastructure. Thousands of companies use it, and it has grown quickly in under two years. It is now extending that infrastructure into a broader platform for running AI agents at scale. The company is backed by leading venture investors and is intentionally building a small but exceptional team of about 40 people, with engineers reporting directly to the technical co-founders. The culture is deeply technical and hands-on, and staff engineers are senior individual contributors, not people managers.
