Product Engineer (Full-Stack)
About the role
An early-stage AI startup is looking for a Product Engineer with 2 to 5 years of experience to be its first engineering hire outside the founding team. You will build the AI voice agents that run live B2B sales calls, from backend services to the agent capabilities that let it show products live, shipping to production weekly and working directly with the founders at a company that just turned on revenue and is scaling fast.
What you will do
- Build backend services and APIs behind live AI sales calls (session state, integrations, data pipelines)
- Develop the agent capabilities that let the AI demonstrate real products live while it talks to prospects
- Work directly with design partners to shape the product: understand their needs and build custom solutions that feed back into the core product
- Build LLM-powered workflows: prompts, tool use, and agentic flows the agent follows during live conversations
- Ship UI in Next.js and React where needed, watch real calls, and iterate fast
What I am looking for
- 2 to 5 years of professional software engineering experience with shipped production software
- Strong TypeScript and JavaScript skills, particularly on the backend (Node.js, Next.js, Postgres)
- Hands-on experience building with LLMs or real-time applications
- A high ownership mindset: you find problems, make decisions, and ship without hand-holding
- Based in or willing to relocate to New York City. Relocation support is available.
About the company
An AI startup building voice agents that act as full-cycle sellers for B2B software companies: qualifying prospects, answering complex questions, and following up until deals close, around the clock. It was founded by serial entrepreneurs who previously sold their first company. It recently closed a pre-seed round backed by well-known founders and institutional investors, and it has just started generating revenue, with demand well beyond what it can currently serve. It is a founder-led team of about 8 where everyone has high ownership and works directly with customers.
